This place is a little bit of heaven on earth. The house is situated so you feel like you have the whole place to yourself and it is so quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. Lots of wildlife to watch and the kitchen has everything needed to cook meals. Will definitely stay here again. Sharon, April 2019
Expect to fall in love with this beautiful property. Enjoy the spacious “front yard” where deer come to feed throughout the day. Watch the hummingbirds feed on either side of the front porch as you enjoy your breeze on the porch swing. Take a drive through Vanderpool, and Uptopia areas to take in the beauty of the hill country. Expect to fall in love with the peace and quiet and make a vow to unplug from the stress of the city daily life requirements. We loved our stay and will be returning next year. Julie, June 2018
Susie’s Little House was perfect for us. It is so comfortable and has all the essentials. A true Hill Country experience, we were secluded enough to see whitetail, black buck, wild turkeys, and more birds than we could name, including several vermillion flycatchers. Close to Lost Maples, Mac and Ernie’s in Tarpley, Bandera, and The Hill Country State Natural Area, all of which we took in. And our host’s hospitality and thoughtful touches makes us feel welcome. Highly recommend!! Walt, Wimberly, TX
“There are not enough words to describe the peace and quiet and beauty that the Little House provides. Between the private entrance, the wild life, the natural beauty and the escape from the hustle and bustle, I couldn't have had a better experience. Susie and Sandy you are so thoughtful to call and make sure I had gotten in alright. As a single woman traveling by herself with her dog , it is a comfort to know there are wonderful hosts and wonderful escapes like the Little House. You won't be disappointed and you won't want to leave!” Shayla, Schertz, TX
“This hands down had to be one of the best weekends I have ever had. From the easy directions, to the beautiful views and quietness. I would recommend this place to anyone. We went hiking, and there was great places to eat in town. The host was great, even made sure we got their safely. It was a great weekend. Will go back again when I can, and go through Backroads every time." Elliott, Thw Woodlands, TX
Thanks for giving us the opportunity to stay here. We have been coming here since right after you opened the little house and the exprience is always just what we were looking for. It was nice to see the creek full and running this time. Sitting in the chairs by the dam on a cool, sunny afternoon was my near nirvana experience. Daniel, Pearland, TX.
"My husband looked for the "perfect" place for our honeymoon and he found it with The Little House. The attention to detail, the feeling of comfort and the quiet solitude that surrounded us was everything we could have asked for to make for a "perfect" honeymoon. I would highly recommend the Little House to anyone looking for a getaway. I would also like to say there is an awesome restaurant called The Laurel Tree in Utopia, which is about 30 miles away, that is definitely worth visiting. However, they are only open on Saturdays and do require a reservation. The Little House and The Laurel Tree are very much worth visiting. Highly recommend!" Gail, TX
"We had such a nice visit at Little House on the Valle Escondido Ranch. We couldn't believe how peaceful and quiet this spot was, with a beautiful view from the front porch and pretty grounds to explore. We felt very welcome by the owners and the house was thoughtfully stocked with everything a guest might need during their stay. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and charcoal grill, as well as the rocking chairs on the front porch." Sara, Austin, TX
